Recycled Container-based Holiday Houses
Located in the mountain landscape of Poiana Brasov, the project proposes an ensemble of temporary homes made from recycled containers formerly used on sea ships. The containers came in two sizes and were cut and cladded in wood and glass to bring diversity and expressivity to the modulated shape that resulted from the given matter. Each house is designed to be unique in terms of space and volume, the unity and coherence being ensured from the tank module. Thus the container was either used in its integrity of form to shelter rooms, or had one, two or three sides of it cut to define generously glazed living rooms, protected terraces or privacy division walls between houses. The natural slope of the site was used as a design advantage to arrange the homes into a dynamic terraced compound that aims to "melt" in nature from the access road and opens fully towards the woods from the rear garden.

Concept Design. estimated budget of euro 780/sqm [strictly for the building]
